Become a Mentor
Thank you for considering investing your most valuable assets – your time and attention – in the life of a young person! As a mentor, you will lend a listening ear, as you attempt to develop a relationship of trust and respect. There are many benefits for both you and the young person you will serve, and we want you to know that becoming a mentor also involves a significant commitment on your part. Each youth mentoring program has their own guidelines, and these typically include an application, background check, and an initial mentor training before mentoring begins. Time requirements for each program also vary, but they often range from four to eight hours per month over a calendar or school year.
